Wireless Routers - Freedom For Internet Users

As you read this article, you may be attached to a computer that's available only in, say, your living room or bedroom. Want to run a computer or laptop anywhere in the house? Consider a wireless router.

A wireless router is network device that allows you, through the use of wireless access points (WLAN), to connect various computers to the internet without a cable. Essentially, the wireless router allows freedom for a number of internet users.

There are clear advantages to the wireless router. The word "wireless" is what it's all about. Think of a computer connected to a cable or phone line. You can sense that the machine is tethered to a wall or fixture. This means you'll be spending a lot of time on a seat (perhaps an uncomfortable one) to access websites or do work.

With the advent of the wireless router, internet users can easily roam throughout the house or building and not remain connected to a phone jack or cable modem. This means if you're working in the kitchen, you can move your laptop and find your favorite recipes. Or, if you like working outside, you'll be able to go out to the deck without worrying about outdoor cables. If you're in the mood for gourmet coffee, you can now head to the local caf and surf while you're waiting for the drink to brew. now, even airports allow folks to wait and surf online without wires. The locations are almost endless. As long as a wireless router can be placed, you can be logged in and surfing the net.

Not being tethered to a wall might also have some benefits if you're a self-employed businessman or an employee. Think about having a virtual office in almost any location. With stores and services that have wireless routers, you can easily set up shop at a convenient restaurant like Panera, or even McDonalds. Or, for cities and towns with wireless capabilities, access will free you from the confines of a small office or cubicle. More and more jobs are now providing employees with the chance to work from home.

Even for sales forces, an employee can go from location to location without the need to return to headquarters. Since a person can have a virtual office at the nearest Starbucks, sales reporting and other business updates can be handled through a PDA or laptop. This means less time spent at the office and more time spent on the sales effort.

Wireless routers can allow not just computer freedom, but even wifi phones. wifi phones are phones that can use wireless technology to transmit voice like a cell phone. Instead of using cellular technology to make a call, wifi phones give the same freedom as a cell phone. In some cases, the calls are free since it's using the internet to transmit the calls. Popular wifi phones through services like Skype are becoming wildly popular.

With the help of wireless routers, our lives can become easier and more convenient. We can go anywhere without the restrictions of wires to access the internet.

Disney Resorts - Are You an All-Star?

walt disney world resorts come in a shapes, colors, sizes...and prices. What makes the All-star resorts so interesting? And which resorts make up the All-Stars?

The disney All-Stars are also known as the disney Value Resorts. These are the most affordable, the most popular and great for families. The All-Stars include the following resorts:

The Pop Century is the newest of the four resorts; its name doesn't contain the words "all star" but it's still in the series.

If This is disney, it Must be Themed

Walt disney world doesn't do anything just half-way, and the All-star resorts are no exception.

How about a pool in the shape of a (huge) guitar? You'll find one at the All-Stars music resort. And since music comes in different styles, the All-Star music disney resort celebrates jazz, calypso, country, broadway and (of course) rock-n-roll.

Have you ever wondered what a giant "big wheel" looks like? Check out the Pop Century disney resort. The Pop Century celebrates items popular in the late part of the 20th century, like play-do, a walkman and the infamous Rubic's Cube.

If you love disney films the disney All-star movies resort is right up your alley. The 101 Dalmatians romp around the grounds, along with Herbie (of "Love Bug" fame) and Buzz Lightyear.

Are you an athlete, or an athlete want-to-be? Take a look at the disney world All-star sports resort. Whether your pleasure is baseball, surfing, football, basketball, tennis or something else, you'll feel at home at this resort.

Give Me Room!

All of these resorts have basic rooms that sleep up to four, but the All-star music has something extra -- family suites. These suites are roughly twice the size of the standard room, and sleep up to six people. The All-star music suites also include a kitchenette and two bathrooms.

What Else Should I Know?

There are pools (at least two per resort) and playgrounds galore at the Disney All-star resorts. And one thing unique in all the other disney resorts -- room service in the form of pizza delivery!

The All-star resorts are large, each having between 1,900 and 2,800 rooms. This means that you will have to do a lot of walking, and perhaps a fair share of standing in lines.

VoIP Services - An Introduction

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about voip services.

"Can you please briefly explain to me what voip is?"

voip stands for "voice over Internet Protocol." A voip phone, (or "broadband phone") is a phone service which connects to your existing high-speed Internet connection for the purpose of making and receiving phone calls.

With a traditional landline, you use your phone to make calls over the copper wires running on traditional telephone poles.

There are two kinds of voip services: phone-based and computer-based.

With phone-based services, you use your standard phone equipment. With computer-based services you plug a headset and microphone into your computer and make calls that way.

"How do I receive or make a voip phone call?"

With a phone-based service you'd do what you always do: pick up the phone to answer it or dial a number to place a call. You won't notice any difference, really.

With a computer-based service, you can make (or receive) calls using a headset and microphone that's plugged into your computer.

"Can I call any phone or just another voip phone?"

Most providers now enable you to call any phone number in the world -- local calls, long-distance calls, calls to cellphones, or even international numbers.

However, there are still some computer-based voip services providers that still limit you to calling other subscribers to that service (what they call "User to User").

Either way, you'll probably have the option of getting several kinds of features as part of your voip services: speaking with more than one person at a time with "Conference Calling" or "Three-way Calling", caller ID, etc.

"How's the voice quality?"

The quality of voip services have improved quite a bit over the years to the extent that you probably won't be able to tell the difference between voip and a standard landline.

However, voice clarity may vary depending on the specific voip services provider. It can also depend on the speed and quality of your high-speed Internet connection.

before you sign up, you may want to talk to other users of the service you are considering.

"Do I need a computer to make or receive calls?"

Not if you have a phone-based voip service. You will need an adapter (which you can get from the voip services provider). This adapter will connect your phone to your high-speed internet connection.

You'll need a computer if you use computer-based voip services.

"Do I do anything different to make a long-distance call versus a local call?"

No difference. What may be different is how much you are charged to make the call, based on who you go with for your voip services. but generally speaking, long-distance rates are pretty low. Not only that: many voip services providers will make unlimited long-distance a standard feature of their plans.

"OK, let's get technical. How do voip services work?"

Like it says, Voice over IP means you are using Internet protocols to make and receive phone calls. More specifically, you are using packet switching technology instead of the more traditional circuit switching used in "old-fashioned" phone systems.

What this means is that your call is converted into small digital packets, each of which is marked to indicate that it is part of a larger message. Then it is compressed and sent on its way over several different pathways or routes. Traditional phone systems would use a single route, which was not very efficient -- too much wasted capacity. The routes are chosen depending on network congestion, etc.

At the other end, the packets are put back together in the proper sequence, then decompressed and converted back into a voice message that your party can understand.

hope that wasn't too technical!

Instead, he is like you: a consumer, a business owner, and someone who has been researching the industry so that he could make an informed decision about the best voip service for his needs. Now, he's put all his research (so far) in one convenient location and he's sharing it with you, no strings attached.

Dieting Makes You Fat

"Whatever it is that you most want truly lies only a thought away" - Mike Dooley

The reason dieting makes you fat is because your brain is specifically designed to keep you from losing weight. The ability to store fat was a survival mechanism that helped our ancestors survive when food was scarce. When you deprive yourself of food, your body thinks youre starving and your survival instinct kicks in. To save your life, your brain slows down your metabolism and releases hormones that store fat.

Every now and then, when you got sick and tired of the extra weight or had some external motivation such as a new relationship, you were able to deprive yourself of the foods you love and force yourself to do exercise you hate for a week or a month or more to lose some weight, right? But then what happened? If youre like 90% of dieters, you gained the weight back and then some. America's number one health crisis is said to be the growing number of people who are seriously overweight. Check out these gloomy statistics:

  • Over 60% of Americans are overweight or obese.
  • 75-80% of American women diet and hate their bodies.
  • As the $40 billion diet industry grows, so does the overweight population.
  • 90% of dieters gain back the weight they lost.
  • 37% of fourth graders have dieted to lose weight.
  • Liposuction is the most popular cosmetic surgery performed in America today -- for both men and women.

Are you ready to lose the weight you've gained from dieting? The answer to the universal weight loss struggle is contained in a universal law called the Law of Attraction. Like the Law of Gravity, the Law of Attraction works perfectly and impartially at all times in all situations for all people. According to the Law of Attraction, you magnetize and attract to yourself whatever you think about. Your thoughts created the body you now have. Your thoughts can create the body you would like to have. Therefore, to be thin -- THINK THIN.

With the Law of Attraction, you can attain and maintain your ideal weight without dieting. Theres no deprivation and no forbidden foods. When you apply the Law of Attraction to weight loss, you can THINK your way to your ideal body. You can eat whatever you desire. You can enjoy food again. You can free yourself from the weight loss struggle.

The only diet that will ever work in the long term is to eliminate negative thoughts thoughts of what you dont want, thoughts that make you feel bad. The only exercise that will ever work in the long term is mental exercise continually bringing your mind back to positive thoughts, thoughts of what you do want, thoughts that FEEL GOOD. The Law of Attraction works. The question is: Is it working for you or against you?
